A mixture of 1-chloro-4-(isopropylsulfonyl)-2-nitrobenzene (Step C, 849 mg, 3.2 mmol), and cyclopropylmethylamine (333 μL, 3.8 mmol) in ethanol (15 mL) was stirred under reflux for 16 h. After removal of solvent, the residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (hexane/ethyl acetate=3/1 as eluent) to afford the title compound (521 mg, 55%) as a yellow solid.
