Following the procedure of Example 1, 6,7,8,9,10,11-Hexahydro-benzo[b]-cycloocta[d]furan-2-ylamine (1.1 g, 5.0 mmol) and isovaleryl chloride (0.68 mL, 5.5 mmol) in pyridine (10 mL) provided 3-methyl-N-[6,7,8,9,10,11-hexahydro-benzo[b]-cycloocta[d]-furan-2-yl]butyramide (0.87 g). Mp 154-155° C.;MS (FAB) m/z 300 ([M+H]+); Anal. Calcd. for C19H25NO2: C, 76.22; H, 8.42; N, 4.68; Found: C, 76.07; H, 8.52; N, 4.89.
