1-Pentanesulfonyl chloride (0.034 g, 0.30 mmol) was added slowly to a solution of [4-(5-aminopyridin-2-yl)piperazin-1-yl]-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl)methanone in pyridine (2 mL) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at 25° C. for 16 hours and then diluted with dichloromethane. The organic phase was washed with water and saturated NaCl solution, dried over anhydrous MgSO4. After removal of dichloromethane, the product was purified by column chromatography to afford the title compound in 4% yield (2.7 mg). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.02, 7.87, 7.74, 7.61, 7.36, 6.94, 4.47, 4.11, 3.87, 3.68, 3.60, 3.42, 2.99, 1.77, 1.32, 0.88. MS (ES+) m/z 485.2 (M+1).
