Procedure
To a solution of 3-(4-aminobenzyl)-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c][1,8]naphthyridin-4 (5H)-one (107 mg, 0.29 mmol, prepared in Example 43) in pyridine (2 ml) was added methanesulfonyl chloride (47 mg, 0.41 mmol, 1.4 eq.), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was admixed with water, and filtered to give precipitates which were dried and purified by flash column chromatography to afford 3-(4-methanesulfonylaminobenzyl)-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c][1,8]naphthyridin-4 (5H)-one (84 mg, 65%).
