This material was prepared by reaction of 2-chloro-6-methoxy-N,1-dimethyl-1H-indole-3-carboxamide 75b (0.38 g, 1.4 mmole) with 1.0 M BBr3 in CH2Cl2 (4.19 ml, 4.19 mmole) in a manner as previously described for example 1d to give an off-white solid (0.195 g, 85%). 1NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) δ 7.61 (1H, d, J=8.3 Hz), 6.65 (1H, s), 6.62 (1H, d, J=2.1 Hz), 3.56 (3H, s) 2.85 (3H, s); ESIMS (MH+): 239.00.
