A mixture of 7-amino-2-[(indol-3-yl)methylene]-2H-1,4-benzothiazin-3(4H)-one (see Example 38) (0.17 g, 0.55 mmol) and tert-butyl isocyanate (0.17 g, 1.75 mmol) in dry DMF (1 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 4 days. The reaction was poured into water (25 ml) and the precipitated solid was collected by filtration. The precipitate was purified by silica gel chromatography using a gradient of (9:1) to (4:6) toluene:ethyl acetate as the mobile phase.
