6-Chloro-8-(3-fluorophenyl)-2-iodo-9-methyl-9H-purine (200 mg) was reacted with an ammonia-saturated methanol at 70° C. for 30 minutes in a sealed tube. The reaction mixture was evaporated and then filtered to give 138 mg of 8-(3-fluorophenyl)-2-iodo-9-methyl-9H-6-purinamine.
