Reaction Steps
3-(Bromomethyl)-5-chloro-1-benzothiophene and 2-(1-piperazinyl)benzonitrile were processed as described in Example 2 to provide the title compound. 1H NMR (d6-DMSO, 300 MHz) δ 3.2–3.65 (m, 10H), 7.21 (m, 1H), 7.28 (d, 1H, J=7.8 Hz), 7.51 (dd, 1H, J=7.8, 1.5 Hz), 7.66 (m, 1H), 7.79 (dd, 1H, J=7.5, 1.5 Hz), 8.14 (d, 1H, J=7.8 Hz), 8.25 (s, 1H), 8.40 (s, 1H). MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 368.1 (M+H)+.
