A mixture of ethyl 4-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-methylimidazole-2-carboxylate (20 mg, 0.05 mmol) from Step A in neat cyclohexylamine (2 mL) was heated at 90° C. for 72 hr. Most of the amine was evaporated under a stream of nitrogen and the residue was purified by Prep TLC (1 mm, silica) (25% ethyl acetate in hexanes to afford the title compound. HPLC/MS: 462 (M+1), 464 (M+3); Rt=4.80 min.
