Reaction Steps
Methanesulfonyl chloride (0.64 ml, 8.24 mmol) was added to a solution of tert-butyl 1,4-diazepane-1-carboxylate (1.5 g, 7.49 mmol) and triethylamine (1.6 ml, 11 mmol) in dichloromethane (20 ml), and the reaction stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The solution was washed with sodium bicarbonate solution, then brine, dried (MgSO4) and evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound, 2.01 g.
