To a solution of 4-nitro-1-propyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid (2-carbamimidoyl-ethyl)-amide (52 mg, 0.2 mmol) in 15 ml of MeOH was added 20 mg of 5% Pd/C under argon. The reaction mixture was flashed with hydrogen and shaken under hydrogen at 30 psi for 30 min. The catalyst was removed by filtration through celite and washed with methanol. The filtrate was evaporated to dryness to give 4-amino-1-propyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid (2-carbamimidoyl-ethyl)-amide 34. This product was immediately used in next step reaction.
