Reaction Steps

Morpholine (5 ml) was added to compound (43) (120 mg, 0.40 mmol) and sodium iodide (156 mg, 0.40 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated to 80° C. and stirred for 6 hrs. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the obtained residue was partitioned between ethyl acetate and aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate. The aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extracts were combined, dried (MgSO4) and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography, and crystallized from ethyl acetate-n-hexane to give white crystals (100 mg, 67%).
