To a solution of 500 mg (2′-Hydroxy-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2H-[1,4′]bipyridinyl-4-ylmethyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester in 5 ml CH2Cl2 3 ml TFA was added dropwise at 0° C. After 16 h 20 ml toluene were added and the solvent removed under reduced pressure to yield a brown foam.
