Reaction Steps

In a stream of nitrogen, sodium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide (1.0 M in THF, 0.31 ml, 0.315 mmol) was added to a tetrahydrofuran solution (3.0 ml) of Compound 45 (92.1 mg, 0.102 mmol) at room temperature, and the mixture was stirred for 3 hours at room temperature. A saturated sodium bicarbonate solution was added to the reaction mixture, and then the system was extracted 3 times with methylene chloride. The organic phase was washed with a saturated sodium chloride solution, and then dried over sodium sulfate. The solvents were distilled off under reduced pressure, and the resulting crude product was purified by silica gel column chromatography (CHCl3-MeOH, 25:1) to obtain a white powder, Compound 46 (31.4 mg, 0.160 mmol, 44%).
