Step (i) of Example 106 was repeated, except that the compound prepared in step (a) of Example 109 was used instead of 3-bromo-7,8-dihydro-6H-1,6-naphthyridin-5-one and 1-tert-butoxycarbonylpiperazine was used instead of 3,3-diphenyl-1-propylpiperazine. Thus, ethyl 3-methyl-2-[4-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)piperazin-1-yl]isonicotinate was obtained.
