Procedure

300 mg of N1,N1-di(2-propynyl)-3-[1-[(2-methoxy-3-pyridyl)methyl]-2-piperidyl]propanamide obtained in Example 176, 0.4 ml of thionyl chloride and 5 ml of ethanol were stirred under reflux for 1 hour, and then the mixture was left overnight. An aqueous dilute sodium hydroxide was added thereto, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was dried over sodium sulfate. The sodium sulfate was removed, and the solvent was evaporated. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate=3:1, subsequently ethyl acetate:methanol=9:1), to give 300 mg of a yellow oil.
