Zinc (3.0 g) was added to a solution of (3aR*,5S*,6aS*)-6a-(2-fluorophenyl)-5-(3,4-difluorobenzyloxy)-hexahydrocyclopenta[c]isoxazole (620 mg) in acetic acid (25 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for two hours. A saturated sodium bicarbonate solution and ethyl acetate were added to the reaction solution, and zinc was removed by filtration. The filtrate was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The drying agent was removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (630 mg).
