7-Chloro-6-methoxy-2-(4-cyclopropylpyridin-3-yl)-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2H)-one (89A: 200 mg, 0.6 mmol) in DCM (5 mL) was demethylated with BBr3 (1.8 mL) at 0° C. for 2 hours to afford 180 mg of the product (94.7% yield).
