To a solution of 5-(hydroxy(phenyl)methyl)-4′-methyl-N—((R)-1-(6-methylpyridin-3-yl)ethyl)biphenyl-3-carboxamide (20 mg, 0.04 mmol) in methylene chloride (2.0 mL) was added Dess-Martin periodinane (26 mg, 0.061 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 hours at 40° C., and LC-MS indicated the reaction was complete. The reaction solution was diluted with CH2Cl2, washed with 10% Na2S2O3, sat. aq. NaHSO3 and brine. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous MgSO4 and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel column to afford a white solid.
