A solution of 5-(chloromethyl)-1H-tetrazole (260 mg, 2.2 mmol) in morpholine (1.5 mL, 17.2 mmol) was stirred at 25° C. for 20 minutes. The crude reaction mixture was purified by preparative LCMS using pH 2 buffer to yield the desired product (300 mg, 82%). MF=C6H11N5O; LCMS calculated for C6H12N5O (M+H)+: m/z=170.1.
