Reaction Steps

Triethylamine (0.23 mL, 1.65 mmol) was added to a solution of 2-bromo-5-(isopropylsulfonyl)benzamide (Preparation 24, 338 mg, 1.11 mmol) in THF (10 mL) followed by trifluoroacetic anhydride (0.18 ml, 1.32 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour, diluted with EtOAc (30 mL) and washed with 2M NaHCO3 (20 mL), brine (20 mL) and the organic layer was dried (MgSO4). The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give a colourless solid, 86% yield, 273 mg.
