To a stirred solution of 4-bromo-5-chloro-N-((2-(methylthio)benzo[d]oxazol-6-yl)methyl)-2-nitroaniline (451 mg, 1.06 mmol) in methanol (80 mL) and DCM (80 mL) was added palladium on activated charcoal (100 mg). The mixture was stirred under hydrogen for 2 h, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to give 4-bromo-5-chloro-N1-((2-(methylthio)benzo[d]oxazol-6-yl)methyl)benzene-1,2-diamine as a light yellow solid (415 mg, 98.6%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 7.57-7.60 (m, 2H), 7.35 (d, J=8.1 Hz, 1H), 6.81 (s, 1H), 6.41 (s, 1H), 5.64 (t, 1H), 5.03 (s, 2H), 4.40 (d, J=6.0 Hz, 2H), 2.74 (s, 3H). LCMS (ESI) m/z 399 (M+H)+.
