To a solution of tert-butyl 2-(2-methyl-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)-1-oxo-2,8-diazaspiro[4.5]decane-8-carboxylate (127 mg, 0.362 mmol) in methylene chloride (1 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (1.396 mL, 18.12 mmol), the resulting solution was stirred at rt for 1 h. After concentration, the residue was treated with methylene chloride (1 mL) and hydrogen chloride (1 mL, 4 N in dioxane). The resulting mixture was concentrated to give the title compound as hydrogen chloride salt. LC/MS: (M+1)+: 251.19.
