Reaction Steps

To a solution of 2-(6-(difluoromethoxy)pyridin-2-yl)propan-2-ylcarbamate (12.4 g, 48 mmol) in acetonitrile (50 mL) was added TMST (10 mL). The reaction was stirred 30 min and then poured into methanol (100 mL) and water (5 mL). The mixture was concentrated, dissolved in ethyl acetate (200 mL), and then washed with 1N NaOH (2×30 mL). The organic layer was separated, dried over Na2SO4, concentrated, and chromatographed with silica gel (50% EtOAc/hex, then 5-20% MeOH/CH2Cl2) to afford 2-(6-(difluoromethoxy)pyridin-2-yl)propan-2-amine (8.8 g, 92%) as a yellow oil.
