Procedure

Following General Procedure F, tert-butyl 2-(4-(6-chloro-8-methoxy-4-oxo-4,5-dihydrothieno[2,3-c]quinolin-9-yl)phenyl)butylcarbamate (65 mg, 0.13 mmol) was reacted with tribromoborane (1.0 M in methylene chloride, 0.76 mL, 0.76 mmol) to afford the desired product (28 mg, 56%) as a white solid: 1H NMR (500 MHz, MeOD) δ 7.60 (d, J=5.4 Hz, 1H), 7.54 (dd, J=7.9, 1.8 Hz, 1H), 7.44 (dd, J=7.7, 1.8 Hz, 1H), 7.39 (dd, J=7.9, 1.8 Hz, 1H), 7.35-7.30 (m, 2H), 6.08 (d, J=5.4 Hz, 1H), 3.38-3.22 (m, 2H), 2.98-2.89 (m, 1H), 1.97-1.85 (m, 1H), 1.85-1.72 (m, 1H), 0.98 (t, J=7.4 Hz, 3H); ESI MS m/z 399 [C21H19ClN2O2S+H]+; HPLC >99%, (AUC), tR=10.29 min.
