Following General Procedure F, tert-Butyl 4-(8-Methoxy-4-oxo-4,5-dihydrothieno[2,3-c]quinolin-9-yl)benzylcarbamate (70 mg, 0.16 mmol) was reacted with tribromoborane (1.0 M in methylene chloride, 0.96 mL, 0.96 mmol) to afford the desired product (37 mg, 60%) as a white solid: 1H NMR (500 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 11.80 (s, 1H), 9.28 (s, 1H), 8.25 (br s, 2H), 7.68 (d, J=5.4 Hz, 1H), 7.60 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.39 (d, J=8.9 Hz, 1H), 7.33 (d, J=8.1 Hz, 2H), 7.17 (d, J=8.8 Hz, 1H), 5.92 (d, J=5.4 Hz, 1H), 4.18 (m, 2H); ESI MS m/z 323 [C18H14N2O2S+H]+; HPLC 98.3% (AUC), tR=10.74 min.
