Following General Procedure F, 8-methoxy-9-{4-[4-(methylsulfonyl)piperazin-1-yl]phenyl}thieno[2,3-c]quinolin-4(5H)-one (32 mg, 0.068 mmol) was reacted with tribromoborane (1.0 mL) to afford the desired product (5.2 mg, 17%) as an off-white solid: 1H NMR (500 MHz, CD3OD) δ 7.58 (d, J=5.4 Hz, 1H), 7.37 (d, J=8.9 Hz, 1H), 7.20 (s, 4H), 7.15 (d, J=8.9 Hz, 1H), 6.16 (d, J=5.4 Hz, 1H), 3.44-3.43 (m, 8H), 2.92 (s, 3H); ESI MS m/z 456[C22H21N3O4S2+H]+; HPLC >99%, tR=10.47 min.
