3′,4′-Dichloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)-[1,1′-biphenyl]-2-ol was prepared as a yellow oil using the procedure described in Intermediate 5 from 2-bromo-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenol (Tetrahedron 2003, 59, 6545) and 3,4-dichlorophenylboronic acid.
