Following the procedure of Example 1 but substituting an equivalent amount of 3-[[(4-methylphenyl)-carbonyl]thio]-2-methylpropanoyl chloride for the 3-acetylthio-2-methylpropanoyl chloride in part 1(b) and subjecting the product to the procedure of Example 1 (c), one obtains (±)-4,5-dihydro-1-[3-[[(4-methylphenyl)carbonyl]thio]-2-methyl-1-oxopropyl]-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid.
