Reaction Steps
A solution of 12 (5.7 g, 21.6 mmol), triphenylphosphine (11.3 g, 43 mmol) and water (5 ml) was heated to reflux for 24 hours. After cooling to room temperature the solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue purified by chromatography on silica gel (90:9:1 CHCl3 : MeOH:NH4OH).
