In an analogous manner to that described in Example 1(g), by alkylating tert-butyl (3RS,4RS)-4-[4-(3-hydroxy-propyl)-phenyl]-3-(naphthalen-2-ylmethoxy)-piperidine-1-carboxylate [Example 24(t)] with 2-chloromethyl-pyridine there was obtained tert-butyl (3RS,4RS)-3-(naphthalen-2-ylmethoxy)-4-[4-[3-(pyridin-2-ylmethoxy)-propyl]-phenyl]-piperidine-1-carboxylate as a colourless, amorphous solid, which was used in the following step without further purification and characterization.
