Reaction Steps
In an analogous manner to that described in Example 62(d), by hydroboration of (RS)-1-benzyl-4-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-3-trityloxymethyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-pyridine with borane-tetrahydrofuran and subsequent oxidation by means of sodium percarbonate there was obtained (3RS,4RS,5SR)-1-benzyl-4-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-5-trityloxymethyl-piperidin-3-ol as a colourless foam; MS: 570 (M+H)+.
