Reaction Steps
To a suspension of 2-amino-4-(1-methyl-3-trifluoromethylpyrazol-5-yloxy)-5-methylpyrimidine (5 g) in diiodomethane (25 ml) is added isopentylnitrite (48 ml) and the mixture is heated to 90° C. for 30 min. After cooling, the brownish reaction mixture is evaporated in vacuo and the residue is purified by silica-gel flash chromatography. One obtains the title compound as crystals of mp. 94° C.
