A mixture of (2-Fluoro-5-nitro-phenyl)-carbamic acid 2-trimethylsilanyl-ethyl ester (3.00 g, 10 mmol) and 10% Pd/C (300 mg) in methanol (30 ml) was hydrogenated at 23° C. The resulting mixture was stirred for 24 h. The reaction mixture was filtered through celite and concentrated to give (5-Amino-2-fluoro-phenyl)-carbamic acid 2-trimethylsilanyl-ethyl ester (2.62 g, 97%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.52 (m, 1H), 6.85 (dd, 1H, J=10.8 Hz, J=8.69 Hz), 6.73 (bs, 1H), 6.28 (m, 1H), 4.27 (t, 2H, J=8.57 Hz), 3.0-4.4 (bs, 2H), 1.06 (t, 2H, J=8.58 Hz), 0.07 (s, 9H).
