Procedure
A solution of tetrahydrothiopyran-3-one-1,1-dioxide (0.74 g, 5 mmol), 3-bromo-4-fluorobenzaldehyde (1.01 g, 5 mmol), and 3-aminopyrazole (0.41 g, 5 mmol) in ethanol (5 mL) was heated at reflux for 24 hours. After the reaction mixture was allowed to cool to ambient temperature, the solid that precipitated was filtered off, washed with ethanol, and dried to provide the title compound.
