4.0 g of 1-(1,2-benzisothiazol-4-yloxy)-2,3-epoxy-propane in 100 ml of aqueous ammonia and 300 ml of ethanol are left to stand for 3 hours at 35° C. The mixture is concentrated, the semi-crystalline residue is dissolved in ethanol and a solution of hydrogen chloride in ether is added dropwise. The hydrochloride which precipitates is filtered off, washed with dry ether and dried.
