Reaction Steps
A solution of 0.2 g (0.5 mmol) of ethyl 3-{6-[3-(tert-butoxycarbonylmethylamino)phenyl]pyrid-3-yl}-2-ethoxyacrylate in 10 ml of tetrahydrofuran is degassed and 0.02 g (10% by mass) of 10% Pd/C is added. After reaction for 5 hours under an atmospheric pressure of hydrogen, the reaction medium is stirred under 3 atm of hydrogen for 24 hours. After filtration through Celite and evaporation of the filtrate, 0.11 g (55%) of ethyl 3-{6-[3-(tert-butoxycarbonylmethylamino)phenyl]pyrid-3-yl}-2-ethoxypropanoate is obtained.
