To a mixture of 5 (0.483 mmol) in ethanol (5 mL) was added 4M HCl/Dioxane (15 mL). The solution was agitated at room temperature for 18 hours. All components in reaction are extremely polar and elute with solvent front. By LCMS, 6 was the major observed ion. The crude material was concentrated and taken directly on to the next step without purification.
