650 mg (1.17 mmol) of 1-(2-{1-[2-(5-benzyloxy-3-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[1,4]oxazin-8-yl)-2-hydroxyethylamino]cyclopropyl}ethyl)-4,4-dimethyl-1,4-dihydrobenzo[d][1,3]oxazin-2-one is dissolved in 30 mL of methanol, combined with palladium on charcoal (10%), and hydrogenated at ambient temperature and 3 bar hydrogen pressure. Yield: 240 mg (44%); mass spectroscopy: [M+H]+=468.
