Reaction Steps
To a solution 0.15 g of the 5-(6-chloro-2-ethyl-2,4,7-trimethylindan-5-yl)-2-propionyl-cyclohex-2-en-1-one in 10 ml of ethanol was added 0.9 g of sodium acetate (NaOAc.3H2O) and 0.64 g of ethoxylamine hydrochloride. After stirring at room temperature for 10 hours, the reaction mixture extracted with diethyl ether. The combined organic layer was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica-gel column chromatography to afford 0.1153 g of the title compound as yellow oil.
