Reaction Steps
The 9-methylsulphonamidocarbonylmethyl-4-oxo-4,5-dihydro-10H-imidazo[1,2-a]indeno[1,2-e]pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid can be obtained in the following manner: 4.4 ml of 1 N aqueous sodium hydroxide are added dropwise to a solution of 0.48 g of ethyl 9-methylsulphonamidocarbonylmethyl-4-oxo-4,5-dihydro-10H-imidazo[1,2-a]indeno[1,2-e]pyrazine-2-carboxylate, 45 ml of dioxane and 1.3 ml of distilled water. The reaction medium is kept stirring for 20 hours, filtered on sintered glass and the solid thus obtained is washed with twice 20 ml of dioxane, air-dried and then under reduced pressure at 60° C. 0.46 g of 9-methylsulphonamidocarbonylmethyl-4-oxo-4,5-dihydro-10H-imidazo[1,2-a]indeno[1,2-e]pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid is thus obtained as disodium salt in the form of a pink solid melting above 260° C.
