A solution of cis-4,5-bis-(2-bromophenyl)imidazolidine-2-thione (35) (0.51 g, 1.36 mmol) and methyl iodide (0.178 mL, 2.1 mmol) in abs. EtOH (20 mL) is heated at 90° C. overnight. The reaction mixture is cooled to rt, concentrated in vacuo, and the residue suspended in Et2O. The insoluble material is filtered to give 0.51 g of the product 52.
