25 mg (0.04 mmol) of the compound from Example 13A (trans isomer) are dissolved in 1 ml of dry acetonitrile, and 0.1 ml (2.30 mmol) of 40% strength hydrofluoric acid is added. The reaction mixture is stirred at RT for 2 h. The mixture is then directly purified by preparative HPLC (column: YMC GEL ODS-AQ S-5/15 μm; mobile phase gradient: acetonitrile/water 10:90→95:5).
