Reaction Steps

1-(4-Methylsulfonylphenoxy)-4-nitrobenzene (28 g) prepared in Step 1 was dissolved in methanol (500 ml) and ethyl acetate (500 ml). 10% Pd/C (1.0 g) was added thereto, and the mixture was stirred for 3 h under hydrogen gas of normal pressure. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was filtered through a celite, washed with methanol, concentrated, and dried to give 4-(4-methanesulfonylphenoxy)-phenylamine (25 g, Yield 100%).
