To 2-(4-(benzyloxy)-3-(methoxymethoxy)phenyl)-3,7-bis(methoxymethoxy)-4H-chromen-4-one (55 mg, 0.108 mmol) in 10 mL MeOH was added Palladium on activated carbon (20 mg). The mixture was stirred at rt under H2 atmosphere for 2 h. Solid was filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated to afford 2-(4-hydroxy-3-(methoxymethoxy)phenyl)-3,7-bis(methoxymethoxy)-4H-chromen-4-one as a yellow solid (45 mg, 99%). This material was used directly for the next reaction without purification. MS (ESI) m/z 419 (M+H+).
