1-(2-Amino-5-bromo-phenyl)-propan-1-one (144.0 mg, 0.63 mmol) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (10.0 mL), and N-chlorosuccinimide (168.0 mg, 1.26 mmol) was added to this solution. The resulting mixture was stirred at 45° C. overnight. The reaction was cooled to room temperature and concentrated. The residue was purified through column chromatography to afford 1-(2-amino-5-bromo-3-chloro-phenyl)-propan-1-one as a solid (130.0 mg, 76.1%).
