The title compound was prepared from 4-methylbenzoic acid and 1-bromo-2-(bromomethyl)-4-methoxybenzene using the procedure described for the preparation of INTERMEDIATE 10. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD): δ 7.90 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 2H); 7.40 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H); 7.27 (d, J=8.2 Hz, 2H); 6.72-6.66 (m, 2H); 3.68 (s, 3H); 3.01-2.91 (m, 4H). LCMS1 3.68 min. (M-OH)=317
