Procedure

4-Benzyloxy-3-methoxy-benzaldehyde (29 g) was dissolved in acetic acid (16 g) and then rhodanine (16 g) and sodium acetate (36 g) added into. The solution was refluxed for one hour. The reaction solution was poured into water. The solid was filtered, washed with water and dried under vacuum.
