(7-Bromo-3-chloro-5,6-dimethoxy-benzo[b]thiophen-2-yl)-morpholin-4-yl-methanone (0.7 g) and copper(I) cyanide (2.3 g) in N,N-dimethylformamide were irradiated in a microwave oven at 180° C. for 1.5 hours. To the mixture water (40 ml) and ethyl acetate (40 ml) were added. The solid was filtered and the organic phase was evaporated and dried in vacuum. The product was purified by flash chromatography using heptane-ethyl acetate as an eluent.
