The product of example la above, 2-fluoro-6-phenylbenzonitrile, (0.1 g, 0.51 mmol), and cyclohexylamine (1 mL) were combined in a sealed tube that had been flushed with argon. The tube was heated in an oil bath to 100° C. for 1.6 hours. The excess cyclohexylamine was evaporated, and the residue was flash chromatographed on silica gel eluted with 0-2% ethyl acetate in hexane, and then recrystallized from methylene chloride/hexane to give the title product as a white crystalline product. mp 125-126° C.
